Having a Serious Talk with Dad

Gage had a basketball game tonight and he did really great! On our way home we passed my Dad and Tim in the truck next to us and my little brother said quietly in a soft voice "I think I need to have a serious talk with my Daddy". Me and my grandma turned to look at each other in an amazed gaze, and asked "What do you mean Gager?" He replied back with "I just saw my Daddy smoking in the car next to us, he promised me on New Years he would stop. And that was about three months ago." It broke my heart to my little brother say those things to me. I once have asked my dad to please stop but kicking an old habit isn't as easy as it seems. Am I mad at my Dad for smoking? Well... No but, I also never want to see anything happen to him. It is very hard for me to hear such things come out of my little 10 year old brothers mouth. Still so innocent and not quite getting things yet. I would call this... Asking for forquitness.
What I hope you get from this...
1. Do not be afraid of telling your Parent how you feel about the things they do.
2. Never think that your opinion doesn't matter to a Parent.
3. You mean everything and more to your Parent never doubt them.
4. Learn from your Parents mistakes... and make sure you know how you felt about the things they did and remember that while you grow up to make sure you never do such a thing to make your children feel uncomfortable.
5. Always voice your opinions cause some why or a another they will make a great difference.
